What we do
Stretching covers what usually gets left out: hip and shoulder mobility, breathing, stability and recovery.
The sessions are designed for board-sport athletes, but you do not need to surf or skate to get something out of them. They balance out the load, keep niggles away and build body awareness.
There is a part of this that only makes sense with the years: what takes people off a board is almost never a spectacular fall. It is a shoulder that no longer reaches, a hip that will not rotate and a back that complains. Half an hour of mobility a week is the difference between still skating at fifty and telling people you used to skate.
And there is the breathing, which in surfing is not a detail: knowing how to bring your heart rate down when a set lands on top of you is trained on dry land, lying on a mat, long before you need it.
