A rider throwing up a curtain of powder snow on a Pyrenean slope
06 — Snow

Same board,different surface.

In season the coast gets swapped for the Pyrenees. Same group, same logic: forecast, shared cars and people with years of sliding behind them.

What we do

The association grew out of people who surf, skate and ride mountains, and it shows in the calendar: when the sea hits its worst stretch, the activity moves to the snow. It is the same community doing the same thing on a different surface.

Trips work exactly like the surf ones: the forecast gets watched during the week, destination and cars get fixed, costs get shared and up we go. Nobody makes money out of it and nobody goes alone.

Winter is also when the training room makes most sense. Legs, core and balance get trained in October and November so that the first run in December is not also the last of the season.

And yes, some people skin up. It is done with the right kit, with people who know the terrain and without heroics: the mountain in winter does not forgive improvisation.

Who it is for

For people who already slide and want to make the most of the months when the sea is impossible and the mountain is not. We do not teach snowboarding or skiing: we organise the trips and bring the group.

What you need

We provide

  • The organising, the group and shared cars.
  • People with years of snow behind them.
  • Specific physical preparation in the training room through autumn.

You bring

  • Your board or skis, boots and bindings.
  • Mountain clothing, goggles and gloves.
  • Your lift pass.
  • For off-piste: shovel, probe and transceiver, and the ability to use them.

What it costs

The trip is not charged for: the real cost of the car gets split. Lift pass, rental and accommodation are on each person.

When we get a group rate, it applies to everybody who comes.

Who is there

Members who have spent half their lives on snow: there are snowboarders in the team from before a snowpark was a normal thing at a resort.
