A Surf & Grind Gasteiz trip on the beach, boards on the sand before going in
07 — Meet-ups, events and trips

The communitythat holds it up.

Talks, trips, screenings, events and that while after training where you share what you have been up to and start planning the next thing.

What we do

Surf & Grind is not only a place to train. It is a community that comes alive through meet-ups, trips, clinics, talks, screenings and plans that start in the clubhouse.

Some activities are for members and others are open to anyone who wants to know what this is about. Whenever we can, if an activity is born inside the community, members take part free of charge — one hundred per cent voluntary. If an event carries outside costs, we keep the members’ share as low as possible and there is always a discount over everyone else.

Remember: we bring the place, the community and the means, but the drive is yours to bring.

The association grew out of exactly that mixture, right from the start: community, sport, fun.

Who it is for

For anyone who gets that half of this happens off the board. Some meet-ups are for the house; others open to the whole city, and they are the door almost every current member came through.

What you need

We provide

  • The place: 600 m² with a common room, a terrace and a BBQ area.
  • The community and the means.
  • Loan gear when the activity calls for it.

You bring

  • The willingness. Literally the only essential.
  • Something to share, if the meet-up calls for it.

What it costs

If the activity comes from inside the community, it is free for members, entirely voluntary. If an event has an outside cost to cover, we keep it to a minimum and members always get a discount over everyone else.

Open days are free for everyone, member or not.

Who runs it

Activity coordination is in-house, but most meet-ups are proposed by a member and run by whoever signs up. There is no programming department here: there are people with ideas.
